The 64th annual Beaufort Water Festival is set to begin this Friday, July 12 and ends July 21. There are loads of fun things to do and see at this classic festival, but here are a few things you should know before attending:

1.) Look over the schedule to make sure you catch your favorites

On Friday, July 12, the Water Festival’s Opening Ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. at the Waterfront Park. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and there will be a free shuttle from the Beaufort Government Center to the park. The ceremony will feature the Parris Island Marine Band and will include fireworks at dusk.

This ceremony kicks off the next ten days of fun!

Water Festival has something for everyone. The events are wide ranging and each brings something special to the festival.

Look at the schedule beforehand to get the scoop. View the schedule here.

2.) Buy special event tickets beforehand

Tickets for the Water Festival evening events will be sold at the gate and online. If you buy tickets beforehand, you won’t have to wait in line at the festival. Buy evening tickets here.

3.) Come early to park

Most events are held at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park. There is metered parking available down Bay Street and throughout downtown – keep in mind that meter payment is enforced between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Some local businesses also allow parking in their lots for a fee.

There will be a lot of attendees and metered parking will fill up quickly. It is important to wear comfortable shoes in case you need to walk to the waterfront!

The Beaufort County Government will have a free shuttle to the park for the Opening Ceremony, Concert in the Park, and Motown Monday.

4.) Come prepared

A day in the sun is sure to wipe you out if you’re not prepared! Lather up with sunscreen and wear a hat for sun protection.

Bring chairs and blankets to your favorite events to have a place to rest and relax.

Food and beverages are available during Water Festival main events. During the day, shops and restaurants are open. Pop in to rehydrate and refuel!

5.) Have fun

The Water Festival has been a tradition in Beaufort for 64 years! This festival brings the community together in a way that brings spirit to Beaufort county.

Thank you to the volunteers who help put this festival together for our community.

Happy Water Festival!
