Please help me welcome Lynda Dyer, our new Visitor Services Coordinator! A native of Covington, Ga., Lynda has had the pleasure of calling Beaufort, S.C. her home for the past four years. Lynda earned her Bachelor’s & Masters in Business Administration from Valdosta State University. She had a successful career working for Dow Jones & Company and the Pacific Daily News. A military spouse of 22 years, Lynda has enjoyed traveling the world and getting the opportunity to support her husband and children in the various locations the U.S. Navy has led them. Lynda will manage and oversee the Visitors Center, and collaborate to bring multiple entities together to increase overnight travel. Lynda’s position is key to Beaufort, Port Royal, and the Sea Islands’ continued growth as a popular destination. Welcome, Lynda!

This past week, we had the pleasure of having Milana Ingraham intern with us. Milana is a junior at Beaufort Academy, where each year the school organizes a week-long internship program for its juniors and seniors. The Chamber supports initiatives like this because we believe in bridging the gap between education and the workforce.

We are continuing to monitor South Carolina House Bills 3650 and 3651 regarding business licenses. The bills have been sent back to Labor Commerce & Industry Committee for revisions and we are encouraged by that move. As always, we will continue to update you.

Don’t forget! Business After Hours is this Thursday, March 9 at 5:30 p.m. at Beaufort Memorial Hospital’s Keyserling Cancer Center. We hope you will join us for great food, entertainment and networking!
All The Best,

Blakely Williams
