Untitled-2It is a privilege to be home to three military installations – Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, Parris Island and Naval Hospital Beaufort.  These men and women in uniform serve our country with pride and it’s our responsibility to ensure we take care of them and their families.  More than the economic impact the Tri-Command has on our local economy,  our military and their families are a vital part of the fabric of this community.  They volunteer at our festivals, coach our soccer teams and sit beside us at church and sporting events.

Today I joined members of the Military Enhancement Committee, as well as several of our elected officials and community leaders at the Association of Defense Communities 2016 Installation Innovation Forum in Charleston.  This is a great opportunity to learn more ways to support our local bases as well as our military families.  We take pride in being the most military friendly state and are excited to host this conference in South Carolina, showcasing our bases.

Your Chamber also takes pride in our business community.  We are looking forward to honoring businesses, organizations and individuals who make our community a wonderful place to live and work at the 2016 Civitas Awards Gala.  Award nominations are now being accepted and we would love your support. Click here for nomination forms as well as a complete list of award categories and past winners.  We look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

Blakely Williams
