Thank you to everyone who attended our annual State of the Bases breakfast last Wednesday at the Beaufort Holiday Inn. The Chamber is always proud to produce this event as an opportunity for our membership, citizens and military community to receive a briefing on the state of our three military installations- Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, and the Naval Hospital.

We had an amazing start to the event with a presentation from the Parris Island Band and Color Guard. We also welcomed the new Naval Hospital Commanding Officer Cpt. Jeffrey Korsnes, who served as our keynote speaker. The Military Affairs Committee also awarded a well-deserving military couple with Military Family of the Quarter. Congratulations Sgt. Matthew J. Phillips and Nikol Phillips! Thank you for your service and dedication to Beaufort County.

I hope to see all of you this Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Business After Hours with our hosts Turbeville Insurance Agency and The Beaufort Today. The event will be held at Turbeville Insurance, and as always, there will be great food, networking opportunities and raffle prizes. You may see some new faces volunteering at check-in, as we welcomed our new 2017 Ambassadors to the Chamber this week! I look forward to working with this group in the year ahead to ensure that we are doing everything we can for our Chamber members.

All The Best,

Blakely Williams
