A Note From the President 12.08.15

What a great holiday weekend in Beaufort!   It was wonderful to see so many folks downtown, enjoying this special place we are blessed to call home.   As you get ready for the holidays, I hope you will plan to join us for Founders’ Night Fireworks on New Year’s Eve in Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.  Bring your friends and family to enjoy entertainment, hot chocolate, refreshments and of course fireworks!  Festivities will kick off at 5:30 pm with fireworks beginning at 7:00 pm.  This will be a special night and I hope you will come and be a part of it.

I would like to personally thank everyone who participated in our recent Legislative Survey.  We are using your feedback to shape the Chamber’s 2016 Legislative Agenda, which will be presented at our Legislative Luncheon on January 6.  We look forward to hearing from our State Delegation during the Luncheon about their plans for the upcoming legislative session.  Mark your calendar and plan to join us.

The Chamber continues to advocate for better and safer roads.  We have launched a campaign with others around the state to inform our state leaders that we support action on fixing our deteriorating infrastructure system this legislative session. I encourage you to sign the Petition to Fix SC Roads to let our elected officials know you support a sustainable and recurring infrastructure bill.

It’s time to get out your ugly Christmas sweater!  Join us for Business After Hours this Thursday and wear your ugly Christmas sweater.  You could just win some great prizes.  We will also be collecting unwrapped toys that night for Toys for Tots.  We hope to see you there!

All the best,

Blakely Williams, President & CEO

Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce
